JOB SUMMARY The Director of the Business Intelligence Group is a key strategic role within Parallon Business Solutions.Data is powerful and it is most powerful when we can share it immediately with colleagues via the web and mobile device. We are focused on creating a visually appealing, interactive reporting solution. Our goal is ensure that our business and clients can interact with the data, not just look at it. Our business intelligence application will focus on pointing out exceptions, highlighting potential problem areas and providing drill down capabilities. In general, our goal is to provide better business insights and deliver actionable information.The leader of this team is an active participant in the development of the strategic roadmap for Revenue Cycle, Consulting, NPAS, Physician Services, Health Information Management and Cost Accounting dashboards. This Director provides guidance in the application of the toolset to fit business requirements and in the analysis of new and/or competing technologies. The Director will oversee the implementation of new technologies and ensure we are leveraging existing technologies were applicable. The incumbent needs good communication and interpersonal skills, and will be interfacing with a number of people at many levels of the organization throughout Parallon, IT&S and work directly with executives of our external clients. In addition to establishing a reporting roadmap, this Director is also responsible for data architecture. With the increasing variety and velocity of data this position is key to establishing our future capabilities. We want to transform the way the business interacts with data, ensuring we are enabling data on demand mindset and allow the business to make real time decisions. Our organization is focused on delivering value so it is also important to be tactical. This role provides day-to-day development and support for widely-used 3rd-party software deployed throughout the enterprise for analysis, reporting and predictive analytics. This role will direct a large BI team (FTEs, onshore and offshore resources, and vendor resources) that provides expert support for thousands of business people within Parallon and its client organizations. It will also plan and execute release upgrades; maintain product availability and performance within SLA parameters; conduct advanced tool training; research and test extensions of the various product lines supported; and maintain ownership of the access provisioning process, code migration and version control of all metadata. This department will be responsible for reporting from many disparate Health Information Solutions (Meditech, Epic, HMS, McKesson, Cerner, etc.). This will entail managing TBs of data in a complex reporting environment. This position will be conversant in many different areas of healthcare knowledge, in order to meet different business communitys unique needs (financial, recruiting, supply, credentialing, etc.). GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESThe Director of the Business Intelligence team will lead his team in the following areas:
- To provide technology-specific expertise for business intelligence tools to the rest of the IT&S organization. Provision of this expertise takes a number of forms, including: engaging in consultative work and joint-development with various application development teams, providing second-level support to customers, creating and maintaining standards and procedures, developing and delivering in-depth technical training & certification programs, and leading problem analysis & resolution.
- To create a stable information technology infrastructure by maintaining a consistent release policy; planning, testing, and executing release upgrades with the necessary breadth of participation on the part of development personnel and business users; identifying, reporting, and fixing, -- with vendor assistance --, material bugs and deficiencies in the tools; and setting and achieving SLAs that deliver high levels of availability, reliability, and security.
- To leverage HCAs importance as a major client for our many software vendors to influence 3rd-party product development, obtain timely fixes for product deficiencies, and realize substantial price discounts and beneficial contract terms and conditions.
- To provide assistance for performance monitoring & tuning and for capacity planning.
- To manage the daily working of a team of up to 12 people at varying locations. This team will be highly skilled and technical professionals comprising millions of dollars annually in human resources. This will include onshore and offshore resources. This will include employing six sigma, lean, and scrum methodologies.
- To provide and implement a disaster recovery for the reporting solution.
Job Requirements
EXPERIENCE- More than 7 years of relevant work experience
- Undergraduate college degree required
- Healthcare experience, some working knowledge of scrum, six sigma, and lean methodologies
- Standard office environment.
