Averitts offering a Driver Refresher Course to Class-A CDL flatbed drivers who have:

Minimum 4 months of verifiable tractor/trailer experience within the past 3 years
OR
1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience within the past 5 years

Through this program, youll gain the experience you need by working with one of our teams top professionalsan Averitt driver-trainerwho will help you to brush up on your flatbed driving skills in order to meet our experience requirements. And since the courses length is based upon your previous driving experience, youll be a flatbedder in as little as 2 to 3 weeks!
*Flatbed drivers may be asked to pull dry van loads on occasion when/if flatbed loads are unavailable or when necessary** (this may create additional miles)
Participants earn $600 per week while enrolled in this Refresher Course.
After successful completion of the program, the rate of pay will be as follows:
Starting pay: 37 cents per mile*
After 8 months: 38 cents per mile *
After 12 months: 39 cents per mile *
After 24 months: 40 cents per mile (with 10 safety points)*
Top out at 36 months: 42.5 cents per mile *
(w/potential to earn an additional .01 cpm fuel bonus after training is complete)
20-state coverage; TN, KY, GA, Northern, MS, AL, SC, NC, VA,PA, WV, MD, IN, IL, OH, and the Saint Louis, MO area. Small amount of coverage for particular customers in Southern MI, Southern WI, TX, LA, NJ.
No NYC or Canada

Assigned a safe, well-maintained tractor, such as a Volvo VNL670, Freightliner Columbia or Cascadia, all with automatic transmission and APUs
Home EVERY Week!
Average 2,200 miles per week
PrePass Plus
Newer, quality trailers with steel frames and aluminum beds
All load securement and protection equipment is supplied!
Averitt primarily hauls steel, lumber and building materials. We do not haul logs, hay, crushed cars, cowhides, or trash!
Averitt Flatbed Drivers also earn:
$10 load secure fee paid on every load (for strapping, chaining, etc.).
$25 Tarp Pay
$12.50 on re-tarp (in the event of a stop off).
$25 Stop Pay (not to include origin or destination)
$7.50 for a load picked up from yard and required to un-tarp before delivery
Breakdown ($14/hr: takes effect after 2 hrs. not to exceed 10 hrs in a 24 hr period)
Layover ($50 after a 24 hr period-allowed 50 miles)
Detention ($14/hr after 2 hrs for majority of customers)
Referral bonuses after referred applicant works for 90 days
Fuel bonus- earn an additional .01 cpm if exceed baseline truck/ transmission MPG averages; paid quarterly.

Job Requirements
Must be 23 years of age
Minimum of 4 months verifiable tractor/trailer experience within the past 3 years or 1 year verifiable tractor/trailer experience within the past 5 years
Drivers must have a Class A CDL
No convictions for Reckless Driving within the past 5 years
No convictions for DUI or DWI within the past 5 years
No suspensions or revocations for a moving violation within the past 5 years
No serious violations within previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following tooclosely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with a fatality)
No more than 1 moving violation within the past 12 months
No more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years
Driver must be able to:
Lift/open trailer door
Count freight (when necessary)
Complete fuel tickets
Hook/unhook trailer
Perform pre-trip inspections
Extensive travel - ability to sit upright for extended periods of time
Load/unload freight (occasionally when required)
Lift tarp
Drive
Maintain regular, predictable attendance
Fuel trucks
