Job Description

Title:Project Manager- ALIP (Accenture Life Insurance Platform)
Location: Houston TX OR Brentwood TN
Duration: 12 months

• Experience with implementing Accenture Life Insurance Platform (ALIP) solutions in the insurance industry is required.
• Responsible for managing one or more cross-functional projects of medium to high complexity.
• Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project oriented work efforts.
• Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for the community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.
• Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
• Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers.
• Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed.
• Assists Program (s) in partnering with senior management of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing to achieve the goals of the enterprise.
• Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management
• methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques. Demonstrates specific technological expertise in highly utilized application packages including but not limited to CRM (Salesforce), ERP (PeopleSoft), RPTG, (Cognos)/ETL (DataStage), or other (PEGA, Sharepoint, PAM, BPEL, Apex, etc).
• Required: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience and 6+ years of work experience, including managing projects. Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is required.
• Understanding of change management processes.
• Experience managing projects in multiple technologies and methodologies.
• Understanding of Production Support (PS) processes.
• Strong ability to work independently.
• Good and / or diverse understanding of infrastructure and other technologies.
• Ability to effectively deal with business users.
• Firm understanding of software development Lifecycle, release management and change management process.
• Familiar with development tools such as Visual SourceSafe and testing tools such as HP Quality Center. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be team player and self motivated, work independently with minimum direction. Experience in designing, developing, and test plans in multiple system environments. Combines multiple technologies to provide alternative physical solutions.
• Reviews and prepares system documents and specifications.
• Prepares reports, studies, and documentation, delivers presentations, and participates in meetings. Has led projects in multiple technologies and platforms.
• Has worked in the Life Insurance industry.
• Experience Leading cross-functional projects of medium to high complexity.
• Proficiency in MS Office required, including Visio, Excel and Project required. Would be beneficial to have experience with: JEE (JSP, EJB), Oracle, IBM middleware (WebSphere Application Server 6/7, WebSphere Process Server 7, DataPower XI50, MQ 7), AIX 6/7, IBM DataStage, XML, web services, JMS, Spring frameworks, HP Quality Center and PPM.
