POSITION/TITLE: Maintenance Technician

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Unit Leader

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

1.  Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.

2.  Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping systems, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

3.  Read and interpret equipment manuals, cut sheets, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

4.  Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

5.  Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.

6.  Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

7.  Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

8.  Comply with safety regulations, PPE and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

9.  Understands and participates in the work order management system (CMMS).

10.  Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be able to bend, stoop and lift and move objects up to 40 pounds consistently with
heavier weight necessary at times.

2. Must be able to work up to 30’ in the air inside a scissor or articulating lift.

Job Requirements

 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

•  Requires a high school diploma/GED or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
 

•  An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus.
 

•  Must have 4 years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC or 4 year apprenticeship in manufacturing setting.

Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

•  Must have some experience with understanding RS Logix, RS Links and Panel Builder 32 Allen Bradley PLC’s.
 

•  Must be able to pass the “AA” 100 question written assessment and hands on assessment.
 

•  Must have own tools and tool box and operate safely (will provide a list of needed tools).
