Seafreight Manager at Memphis

Job Description

Responsible for the management and development of the local ocean freight operations in Memphis.Managing of all financial functions including daily/weekly maintenance of FSL reporting, monthly rolling forecast etc.Objectives:Ensure the highest levels of productivity within the Seafreight department.Provide timely and consistent quotations when requested.Operational Support: coordination with shippers, truckers, steamship line, and K+N offices for the export/import of shipments; complete processing of documentation including bill of ladings, invoicing, certificate of origin, export declaration, etc.; data quality, bookings, forwarding, follow-up, tracking, problem identification and resolution.Incumbent is responsible for the quality of service delivered to our customers.Distribute information vital to operations and the general conduct of business.Evaluate employees on a constant and regular basis.Assist the Branch Manager with budget on branch and department levels for the business areas under his/her jurisdiction.Adhere to the budget guidelines and observe/report negative deviations.Additional responsibilities include the implementation and organization of procedures, process flow, and customer relations.Education:College degree and or certificationExperience:Ideal candidate must have experience in international freight forwarding, with particular regards to operations, administration and accounting.Knowledge and Skills:Strong interpersonal skills are required.Solid PC operational knowledge along with Microsoft Office applications experience.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.Possess self-discipline, strong leadership and motivational abilities.In addition, ability in developing operational strategies and solutions is desired. Travel during the first week of employment to KN Chicago office or Atlanta office to attend Seafreight Training is required.
