Sr IT Architect - Infrastructure Engineering Architecture Team at Franklin

Job Description

This is a senior position, candidate will take a leadership role as part of the CHS IS Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering team to build solution standards and processes for critical reliability and maximum uptime for hospitals. This architect position is responsible for both design and risk analysis regarding a broad range of IT infrastructure solutions but with special emphasis on Wintel Platforms solutions. This position demands an individual with the ability to both produce professional architecture documentation as well as the communications skills needed to lead design sessions with stakeholders ranging from C Levels and Clinicians to Managers and Engineers. The position demands deep expert knowledge of Windows, VMWare, Citrix, and SQL platforms and design of large enterprise-wide solutions in addition to an ability to work closely and collaboratively with the demands of a rich CISCO Network Infrastructure and various Storage solutions teams, as well as collaboration with other Application and Enterprise Architects. The candidate for this position should be an expert technical writer and solutions modeler for their domain and be able to work both independently and as a team lead.

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages the design and development of enterprise network architecture framework including the technology architecture strategy, policies, standards and best practices.
• Will act as a leader for the roadmap and planning the transition from the current architectural framework to the architecture of the future; ensuring alignment with organizational strategy
• Compose thorough, in depth technical architectural models for CHS priority projects.
• These models must support Infrastructure Engineering by establishing the permitted structure of new systems and defining the architectural components that are in line with business needs and IT standards.
• Written and oral presentations of projects, business case and technology assessments
• Consult with business and technology teams when needed
• Ensuring continuity of architectural plans with other IS departments
• Provide input to the development of project initiation documents including objectives, scope, approach, and deliverables, when needed.
• Schedule, conduct and lead meetings to discuss progress of documentation for solution releases, and offer guidance in inter-departmental processes meetings for maintaining consistent work practices within technical publications.
• Coordinate and facilitate document reviews to ensure technical accuracy of information.
  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors degree preferred or previous commensurate experience
• Solid Critical Thinking & System Administration skills
• Ability to assess end-user & application requirements for Citrix, ThinApp, or other application presentation strategies
• Advanced knowledge of Citrix XenApp 4.5 6.5, VMware ESX 5.x, and Citrix Netscalers
• Experience with Citrix Edgesight and Citrix end-user experience tuning
• Experience with Citrix PVS in large Citrix environments a plus
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for supported platforms
  Provide strong Windows Server knowledge in the areas of scripting & automation
• 10 years experience in enterprise technologies with a broad range of experience across all areas of IT, preferably in a large corporate enterprise setting.
• Must have experience architecting solutions in large scale enterprise environments.
• Must demonstrate experience and knowledge of multi-tier architectures.
• Experience in logical architecture (business entities, data flows).
  Ability to demonstrate expert knowledge with Internet software; Word Processing software; Adobe; Microsoft Office Word, Power Point, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint.
• Prefer experience with enterprise desktop management tools, such as SCCM and desktop management strategies w/ published applications
  Experience with Application Virtualization technologies is a plus (ThinApp, etc.)
• Should demonstrate excellent skills in personnel administration, contractor management, direction of others, leadership, and consensus building.
• Coordinate and facilitate document reviews to ensure technical accuracy of information
