Job: Finance Acctg Billing Claims & Revenue

Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) is a global strategic research organization focusing on advancing therapies and accelerating drug development. It is one of the largest clinical research programs, conducting community-based clinical trials in oncology and cardiology through affiliations with a network of more than 700 physicians in the United States and United Kingdom. Additionally, SCRI offers management, regulatory and other research support services to drug development sponsors and strategic investigator sites.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for all cash application functions within the finance department and will support general areas of operations as well as provide administrative and organizational support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Application of receivables to Cash Receipts Log, QuickBooks and Finance Trackers for all lines of business
Transactional line item cash posting into proprietary systems based on remittance detail provided by pharmaceutical companies
Recognizing missed revenue opportunities by reconciling payment detail to financial tracking rates to determine discrepancies and communicate these to accounting
Ensure accuracy of cash postings by contacting Pharmaceutical companies to verify payment remittance detail
Review, interpret and discuss remittances from clients for data accuracy
Work with collections and invoicing staff to ensure accuracy in posting receivables
Assist operations with financial information requests and questions
Files correspondence from sponsors, checks, and other documents as necessary
Maintains files in an organized and accessible manner to include updating information, purging files on a regular basis and creating new filing systems as needed
Ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved
Respond to requests for information from Corporate, Internal Audit and other internal management
Maintain strictest confidentiality to ensure that privileged and / or proprietary information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure
Perform other related duties as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES This position requires the following minimal requirements:
Basic financial operations knowledge including General Ledger
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Basic understanding of cash system functionalities such as COIDs in QuickBooks
Skilled with PC-based spreadsheet and word processing programs
Effective organizational skills
Ability to perform mathematical computations accurately
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
Ability to work well with others
Ability to organize work independently and consistently achieve reporting deadlines
Ability to interact with other individuals at all levels of management
Takes ownership of assigned responsibilities and follows through on outstanding issues for resolution
Above average attention to detail to eliminate posting errors

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required; Associates degree is preferred
EXPERIENCE:
1-3 years of directly-related experience is preferred
