Site Manager at Alcoa

Job Description

Summary: 

The purpose of this job is to manage the installation phase by preparing, directing
and coordinating the activities and resources in respect of the project schedule,
scope, budget and quality constraints. The site Manager reports functionally to
the Program Manager for the program duration. 

 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE
NOT LIMITED TO:

Responsible for the installation phase from preparation to closure phase (system installed,
SAT passed, pending issues released or responsibility transferred to another
person, lessons learned done).

Represent the program manager in the customer relationship on site and promote Smiths Detection
image.

Realize site survey and advice the Customer and the Program Manager for the most
suitable implementation and process flow, taking into consideration site and
customer’s constraints.

Support the Procurement Department for local sourcing (civil work, local manpower,
handling tools etc.)

Monitor the civil work progress, advice and support the customer or the subcontractors
when needed.

Support the program team to coordinate locally and oversee shipping, customs clearance,
in-country movement.

Prepare detailed installation plan and schedule. Organize installation team and assign
roles, responsibilities, objectives and deliverables. Ensure the availability
of necessary tools and means.

Check and validate the program implementation drawings and mounting instructions.

Prepare all necessary permits for the project i.e. VISA, site access, the safety and health etc. Marshal SD
resources from arrival in country to departure including arranging all
logistics from lodging to transportation.

Effectively manage the installation phase by directing and coordinating the activities and
resources, setting priorities in respect of the project schedule, scope, budget
and quality constraints.

Check and validate the SD team and the subcontractors’ work. Ensure that all required
quality control have passed.

Lead coordination meetings on site.

Coordinate the expert support when required.

Responsible for the safety and radioprotection rules application on site.

Prepare and participate to the on-site acceptance tests.

Effectively report to the Program Manager the status of the installation. Conduct continuous
analysis, mitigation, and escalation of risks to project schedule and budget
and writes the weekly installation progress reports.

Track the quality issues (issue description, solution applied, cost, time and
recommendation if any for future programs).

Track the lesson learned.

Ensure compliance with Company’s standards.

Ensure compliance with Company policies for health, environment and safety.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Engineering degree in related technology or project
management

CIS Product technical knowledge

Installation Management experience

Project management experience, PMP Preferred.

Possess excellent organizational, communication (both oral and written), interpersonal
skills with the ability to multi task several projects at once.

Ability to manage cross-functional teams in a matrix
environment and influence people outside of direct reporting relationships

Willingness to work on special projects, some of high visibility. 

This individual must be team oriented and flexible, and actively seek to share
information and assist his peers. 

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations.

Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable individual

Travel, overtime and work hours other than Monday-Friday may be required

Ability to travel to foreign countries for a period from one to 6 months.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
(Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Project and Autocad. 

Language : English + country language

Willing to travel 70% or more.
