Public Affairs Specialist at Millington

This position is located in the Navy Office of Community Outreach (NAVCO), which is a field office of the Chief of Information (CHINFO), in Millington, Tennessee. This position serves as the Program Manager for Aviation Support and coordinates Community Outreach Programs.

As a Public Affairs Specialist you duties by include but are not limited to:

·  Researching and analyzing aviation outreach support.

·  Acting as a Liaison for the command to schedule events.

·  Responding to Freedom of Information requests/inquiries.

·  Serving as a spokesperson for Navy Office of Community Outreach (NAVCO) to provide information to commands or organizations.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conveying information to the public, orally and in writing, to gain public awareness, understanding, and/or support of programs or activities.

 

Examples of qualifying experience include:

•  Coordinating public, community, or media relations activities

•  Assessing program outreach plans or methods; gathering, evaluating and interpreting data to produce informational materials

•  Developing and disseminating presentational materials or informational brochures.

REQUIREMENTS:

Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade.  All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.
