Job Description
Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Engineering Manager.The Etowah, Tennessee plant houses two major furnaces and two glass mat lines. Molten glass is produced on both furnaces and converted to a continuous filament fiber. The fiber is chopped to a prescribed length and then used in various processes in the building industry.

Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and maintaining the electrical controls systems and capital program for a manufacturing facility.
- Prepare projects including scope documents, designs, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, project justifications and documentation.
- Plan and implement new control systems and changes to existing control systems (PLC/DCS).
- Developing, scoping, justifying, implementing, and managing from start to finish industrial manufacturing projects. (Capex or ongoing projects)
- Ensure strict compliance with company policies regarding management and spending of capital in regards to capital versus expense quantification.
- Manage the identification and prioritization of capital improvements. Submit, manage and monitor the request process.
- Prepare Investment Expenditure Requests and required attachments.
- Assist maintenance in troubleshooting controls system problems in a 24 hour a day 7 day a week operation.
- Ensure design of safe processes and safe equipment.
- Maintain control system software revisions.
- Coordinate and manage external engineering resources and consultants as needed.
- Complete safety requirements including project risk screening, degree of hazard and significant of change considerations in addition to appropriate MOC reviews for all project assessments.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:- BS in engineering (electrical preferred)
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing experience
- Proven project management experience
- Proven results orientation
- Knowledge, understanding and demonstrated experience in using electric control systems in an industrial environment including PLCs
- Proven planning and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage capital projects
- Demonstrated computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite including MS project)
- Proven ability to interact with all levels of educational background and skills
- Solid written and verbal communications
- History of building collaborative relationships
- Demonstrated supervisory experience
- Knowledge of AC and DC drive systems (Voltage- 3 phase 480 VAC)
- Knowledge of HMI systems (human machine interface)
- Knowledge of AutoCAD
