Vice President, Product Development at Nashville

Overview:

The VP, Product Development role will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategies (pricing, policy attributes, customer retention) related to our existing insurance business (automobile, renters and life) and leading the planning, development and introduction of new, customer-relevant products (insurance and other complimentary products) in order to enhance the customers experience and grow our business profitably.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of strategies related to our existing insurance business
• Lead insurance product innovation
• Provide guidance and oversight to the insurance focused product management team (3 Product Managers)
• Establish relationships with state regulators
• Evaluate and implement price level adjustments by state to maintain profitability
  • o Lead the internal approval process
  • o Manage state rate filings
  • o Work cross-functionally to implement
• Work with actuarial to improve risk rating through enhancements to the rating algorithm (factors, interactions, relativities)
• Work with underwriting and claims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our underwriting process
• Lead strategic planning, development and implementation of new, customer-relevant products
• Work alongside executive team to fulfill company vision
• Analyze competition and identify market opportunities
• Create, define, and execute the product strategy and roadmap
• Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and opportunities
• Work cross-functionally to implement new products
• Effectively analyze performance metrics and direct organization accordingly
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree preferred, advanced degree a plus
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Sr. Level Product Management Executive in standard, non-standard (or both) environments
• Experience with auto (personal or commercial) insurance product management required
• Demonstrated success defining and launching products
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Superior business acumen
• Familiarity with multivariate modeling
• Familiarity with standard industry software tools
• Excellent teamwork skills
