Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Benefits and HRIS, the Payroll Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of payroll for over 3,000 multi-union employees across 20+ facilities located in the US and Canada.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead HRIS and Payroll System projects
- On-going management and security of HIRS/Payroll Systems
- Periodic implementation of additional HRIS components (Performance Management, Recruiting systems, etc.)
- Manage/implement reporting, recordkeeping and control systems to comply with legal and regulatory requirements while providing internal control safeguards
- Produce general ledger reporting as well as monthly, quarterly and annual payroll and unemployment tax filing
- Work closely with Compensation/Benefits group in administration of incentive plans and benefits as it relates to reporting/deductions from payroll system
- Work closely with IT to successfully build and maintain effective HRIS/Payroll systems including Kronos Time and Attendance
- Work closely with Accounting to ensure accurate and timely transfer of information from the Payroll and Tax systems to the Accounting Systems. Manage payroll postings to the General Ledger and review payroll balance sheet account reconciliations
- Successfully lead and mentor 4 Payroll Administrators
- Foster strong working relationships with HR Managers at the plant level

Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading payroll for a large, multi-state organization
- Experience implementing HRIS/Payroll systems and managing system changes
- Union experience
Preferred, Not Required:
- Experience with Canadian payroll
- Expertise in Kronos, ADP Enterprise and APD Pay@Work
- Four-year degree is preferred, but equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Compensation:
