Classification: Secretary/Admin AsstCompensation: $12.35 to $14.30 per hour
East Memphis Law Firm seeking individual for a New Case Entry Clerk in their Bankruptcy Department. Position Overview Prepare and file legal documents via the Internet, update client systems and close working relationship with Bankruptcy Attorney.Essential Job FunctionsReceive new Bankruptcy referrals from client.Review online Pacer Documents for specific Bankruptcy Cases.Prepare and file Proof of Claims via the Internet program ECF on behalf of the client.Prepare and file Motions via the Internet program ECF on behalf of the client.Prepare and file objections via the Internet program ECF on behalf of the client.Serves as liaison between the client and the Bankruptcy Attorney.Monitor online Pacer website for objections against filed Proof of Claims and Motions.Daily productivity based upon system generated work list and ticker list.Communication with clients via telephone, email and client systems.On a daily basis updating our CMS system as well as the client system with all work performed or any additional information that may be needed.Required to bill and invoice clients for all work performed in a timely manner so as to guarantee prompt payment.RequirementsAbility to work basic computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and other web based programs.Needs to be able to work independently off of Work list and Tickler Report, while keeping a teamwork attitude and helping others out where it is needed.Ability to work overtime.Proven communication and organizational skills developed in prior jobs. Alternatively, the successful applicant should have had exposure to dealing with multiple projects on tight deadlines. Will need to meet specific timeframe requirements set by the Bankruptcy Manager and the ever growing needs of our clients.Proven ability to use multiple software platforms necessary Above average typing skills; a typing test will be administered. Other Skills/AbilitiesAbility to work under pressure and remain calmed, objective and focused Strong organizational skills. Methodical and attention to detail are a must.Strong interpersonal skills. Able to demonstrate diplomacy and credibility when interacting with colleagues. Ability to think independently, gather and analyze data and propose improvements. Two year college degree is required.Prior bankruptcy experience is required. Paralegal Degree preferred
