Job Description

The Design Studio at The Tennessean in Nashville seeks a talented, experienced newspaper page designer who can provide bold designs and alternative story telling forms to the 12 newspapers served by the Studio. The successful candidate will work with editors and reporters to develop multi-layered Page 1A centerpiece and other presentations which will command reader attention. Candidates should have at least five years experience designing a daily newspaper, including significant time designing Page 1A. Understanding of the importance of First Amendment watchdog journalism is a must. Candidates must also demonstrate strong collaborative and people skills and understand the needs of each markets readers. The 60 staff members of the Design Studio in Nashville provide compelling news pages for 12 newspapers across the Southeast, building those pages from the studio in the heart of downtown Nashville and send them electronically to print sites.
