The Assistant Service Technician (aka "Make-Ready) is an important position for the service team and property. The Assistant Service Technician works under the supervision of the Lead Service Technician and the Community Leader to prepare recently vacated apartment homes for new residents. This position may respond to service work orders that involve less technical tasks or assist a Service Technician in the performance of his/her duties.

All MAA associates must successfully clear a background investigation to include but may not be limited to: criminal background check, pre-employment drug screening and an employment verification process. Weekend and after hours work may be required.

Job Requirements

• Ability to understand basic instructions and follow a tasks checklist,
• Ability to operate basic hand tools and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to perform basic work in electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry.
• Skilled in the repair and assessing details of vacant apartment homes.

Experience Required

• Six months work experience consisting of physical activity-prior "make-ready" experience is a plus.
• Experience working in a moderately difficult work environment.
• Experience lifting objects 50lbs or above regularly.
