ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales of Fabricated Steel Bar Grating -to Structural Steel Fabricators in the Knoxville area. The product is used by the Fabricators as part of Miscellaneous metals on their bids. Ultimately the product is used as a walking surface in Public Works, Petrochemical, Waste water and other large industrial environments.
- Leverage relationships with Fabricators to drive new product sales in TN and neighboring states,
- Liaison between customer, Inside Sales Representative and Sales Estimator
Make outbound calls to existing and potential Steel Fabricators to sell all" fabrication products and services
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on information from advertising inquiries, direct mail responses, trade shows, business directories, internet websites, and other sources
- Extensive travel is a requirement, and consists of 2-3 weeks monthly
QUALIFICATIONS
- Established relationships with Structural Steel Fabricators that pursue major public works projects in the TN area and surrounding states.
- Background selling fabricated steel/metal (handrails, walkways, steel stairways, railroad/subway metals, walkways, bar grating)
- Four year college degree required.
- Candidate must be a self-starter with a minimum of 5 years Outside Steel Sales experience selling into TN and neighboring states, with emphasis on the structural steel fabrication market.
- The ability to read/interpret structural steel drawings is preferable.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Computer Skills
Must have basic computer skills and be fully capable to work with Excel type documents
