Gerdau iscurrently seeking a Manufacturing CustomerService Representative for its
Knoxville Mining Products (KMP)facility. KMP is a start-up facility.
Job Summary:
Perform a variety of scheduling, job order processing,material ordering, and customer service duties pertaining to the fabricationand delivery of reinforcing steel for the Knoxville Mining Products Division ofGerdau.
Primary Duties andResponsibilities:
On a daily basis, contact customer regarding job scheduling, shop production workload, delivery dates, order sequencing and miscellaneous issues that may impact the division’s fabrication and shipping operations. Fax/email information or confer with customers over the telephone to confirm or adjust schedules.
On a daily basis, contact mill to schedule delivery of stock material requirements, based upon production schedules. Discuss/review any issues with customer’s schedule or shop fabrication that has impact to previously planned stock deliveries.
Coordinate stock demand with Shop Superintendent to facilitate stock orders based upon mill rolling schedules.
Prepare daily production schedule for the next day’s fabrication requirements. Coordinate and consult with customer and shop personnel on a continuous basis to keep informed about shop conditions and customer requirements. Coordinate scheduling activities to maximize plant tonnage and payloads using production parameters based on available shearing, shop personnel, and delivery schedules.
Group customer orders to reflect loading sequences, delivery times and shipping destination.
Schedule run-in for work and revise shop fabrication schedules to accommodate customer requirements, fabrication errors, breakdowns or delivery changes. Inform customer of any delays.
Prepare workload backlog report showing the daily shearing schedules for the thirty (30) days, based upon customers PO, and the tons associated with the scheduled production.
Receive customer calls and respond to inquiries regarding delivery schedules, to include dates, times and addresses, special loading or delivery requirements and miscellaneous items to insure proper handling of customer orders and on-time delivery of finished goods.
Contact customer to confirm or revise delivery schedules using tact to facilitate schedule adjustments and to insure favorable on-going customer relations.
As customer schedules change, prepare revised fabrication and delivery schedule reports.
Visit the fabrication shop daily to review and update information regarding project status that may impact on-time delivery schedules such as changes in available manpower, equipment breakage, status of fabrication and delivery schedules, etc.
Utilize computer word processing and/or spreadsheet software programs to type customer letters, department memos or general correspondence and to generate fabrication and delivery schedules, backlog reports and inventory information for shop personnel or records.
Additional Responsibilities:
Prepare production runs and schedules and optimum shear schedules.
Help other employees with computer problems when needed.

Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
2 to 3 years of experience in a related position (customerservice, logistics, supply chain, inventory) preferably in a manufacturing orindustrial setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SAP is aplus.
Ability to collect and analyze data for forecasting.
Excellent interpersonal skills; communicate effectively withemployees, supervisors and customers.
Work independently and as a team player in a fast-paced,complex environment while managing multiple responsibilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Able to work in manufacturing office environments and beoccasionally exposed to heat, cold, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration andindustrial manufacturing noise.
