Senior Project Manager at Memphis

Job Description

Our client is looking for an EDI Project Manager in Memphis, TN to manage a system migration.  This is initially a 3 month contract with potential to extend.  To succeed, the Project Manager must have substantial client facing experience, demonstrated a high level of success in delivering multi-million dollar projects, and have experience in working closely with clients to build an effective partnership. 

 

Main Responsibilities:

• Create project management process/methodology by developing and implementing a consistent and standardized process throughout the project
• Improve effectives of the project and efficiently meet and manage client objectives and expectations
• Outline  top down and bottom up deliverables and acceptance criteria; beginning with the ultimate output of the project and working into the details to see how to produce the most effective output for the client and or organization
• Identify processes and conflict processes to create deliverables
• Develop project milestone reviews
• Manage relationships with clients and staff in the sales, IT, operations organization
• Provide technology and business consultation
• Manage vendors, including the establishment of service level agreements 
• Work closely to align technology planning with client
• Provide reporting support for client and organizational leaders
• Provide strong business acumen and execute project solutions
• Manage scheduling, cost control and changes

Job Requirements

Required Skills, Experience, Knowledge:

• Experience running large projects (15-30 resources, 12+ months, $500k-$2m+)- global experience a very big plus
• Extensive Customer/Client Facing experience
• Experience managing delivery using the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Dynamic Problem Solver with customer focus
• Ability to motivate a team to meet tight project timelines
• 5-15 years of Project/Program Management Experience
• Fluent with Microsoft Project & Project Task planning & dependencies.
• Supervisory experience (managing PMs & other resources)
• Deep experience in project status & financial reporting.
• Detail-oriented
• Must have very strong interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to partner with others, and be able manage complex relationships
• 10-20 years of Solutions/Applications delivery experience
• Experience with the Six-Sigma Process or similar methodologies
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Computer Science

 

Project Manager Skills needed:

• B2B/EDI
• Project Management – providing planning, scheduling, and reporting related to the MF Migration Assessment

 

Deliverables:

• Provide B2B Analysis on current process flow by business document, and assist with documenting the as-is process flow
• Provide B2B Analysis to determine active Map Inventory in their Mainframe DI environment
• Provide guidance/consulting on where best to implement the processing contained in the current COBOL programs
• Provide guidance/consulting to the client on Mapping best practices including map specification/documentation
• Assist client in producing documentation for Map spec process/template
