Job Description
This position primarily supports a single client relationship with all web site development and maintenance needs. When not focusing work efforts on that client, this position, under general supervision, builds web sites per design specifications for other clients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in computer software or design-related field required, and
- Minimum of five years of experience in web site development;
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Responsive Web Site Design (media queries and grid layouts), Adobe CS6 (Fireworks, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Acrobat), JavaScript, jQuery, and other scripting languages.
- Strong knowledge of web servers (IIS), browsers, DNS, SEO, and accessibility (WCAG, ADA section 508).
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of multi-browser development and trouble-shooting. Exercises good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Strong communication and customer interaction skills.
- Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
- Strong writing, editing, organizational, and time management skills.
- Basic knowledge of ASP.NET (C#), integration with software APIs, and MS-SQL preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of video editing and encoding preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of Flash and ActionScript preferred but not required.
- Able to work in code without the use of a WYSIWYG editor.
- Able to identify and differentiate colors.
- Able to meet aggressive deadlines with competing project schedules and priorities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Builds and reviews web pages, scripts, functions, and queries to be compatible with the latest and most common versions of popular web browsers. Identifies, researches, and resolves errors and technical problems.
- Provides support to end-users. Participates in web site strategy discussions with client.
- Formats and updates content to be consistent with the web sites graphic design.
- Adds or updates web site structure and content in OpenText Web Site Management (CMS).
- Researches, tests, and quality checks new scripts and technologies to incorporate into web projects.
- Logs development time and details in project management systems.
- Creates and updates web sites per design specifications. Works on complex and diverse projects.
- Works to improve and increase knowledge and skills.
- Works closely with and provides feedback to project team members to create and maintain web sites.
- Works with junior and senior level team members to accomplish other web site tasks
