Job Description
The Solutions Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining engineering solutions for operations to include time studies and methods improvements.
Primary Duties:
- Manages a client solution through scope discovery, gathering data, modeling, internal review, and client approval
- Provides creative client supply chain solutions, international freight, order fulfillment and domestic transportation in partnership with Business Development
- Develops all aspects of a pricing model, creates response documents and attains Executive and client approval
- Visits client operations to ascertain opportunity scope and develop relationships
- Creates concept of operations
- Provides cost estimates
- Presents proposed solutions to customers and senior leadership
- Interfaces with various functional groups for costing input
- Builds cost model
- Creates a conceptual facility layout
- Manages Solutions Engineers and Analysts to include: interviewing, training, performance evaluation, coaching, and guidance
- Other duties as required and assigned
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:- Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or Logistics from a 4 year college or university
- Minimum 4 to 7 years related experience and/or training in a distribution environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in a 3PL environment preferred
- Experience with AutoCad
- Experience with facility design
- Knowledge of P&L statements
- Knowledge of labor standards
- PC literate with a command of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook
Essential Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to communicate with various levels of the organization as well as various levels of the customers organization
- Ability to influence others, work as part of a tem, and act as a catalyst for change
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. He/she is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. He/she must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. He/she is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
