These functional areas act interdependently during a patient visit, contributing critical information required for and to patient care services rendered and in the procurement of payment for services rendered.
The Regional Director of Business Office is expected to demonstrate, through plans and actions, that there is a consistent standard of excellence to which all departmental work is expected, while providing both knowledge and support to facilities in order to help them reach their goals.
Essential Job Duties:
Analyzes and resolves problems that affect the claim submission process, regardless of whether the problem originates in an area under direct or indirect control.
Analyzes, identifies and forecasts cash projections, A/R reserve requirements and staffing needs.
Monitors and supports daily staff functions in all areas related to A/R management. Participates in revenue cycle, denial management and patient access management work teams.
Monitors appropriate internal control of A/R records and collection of cash. Monitors compliance standards for providing accurate information on all facility billings.
Communicates regularly and effectively with both facility personnel and UHS Corporate management regarding the status and condition of the business office A/R operations.
Travels frequently to facilities for on-site staff training, A/R audits and meetings and MS4/ Midas systems training.
Responsible for achievement of monthly and annual performance goals for key revenue cycle indicators such as cash collections, bad debt reduction and miscellaneous deductions reduction.

Job Requirements
Bachelors degree with a minimum of 8 years experience required, Masters degree with 10+ years experience preferred.Working knowledge in the areas of patient registration, billing, accounts receivable (A/R), cash management procedures, managed care contractual terms & requirements, health insurance practices, industry regulatory requirements, business office operations, basic accounting, A/R and reserve analysis, staffing needs and financial reporting skills. Frequent travel to facilities required to provide on-site training in MedSeries 4 and MIDAS systems as well as to review and monitor adherence to UHS Business Office standards, policies and procedures. Skilled in using both mainframe and PC computers. Clear and effective communicating and negotiating skills. Leadership and training skills to motivate cross-departmental teams performance towards excellence. Incorporates UHS values into all business office staff practices and activities.
50% Travel to UHS locations.
