QA Technical Manager - PERM openingThe QA Technical Manager has dual roles in quality assurance and management. This position is typically the first level of management in the technical career path. Manages a team of QA engineers and analysts in addition to having hands-on quality assurance responsibilities. Influences decisions made around QA processes as it applies to applications, architecture, and infrastructure. Typically provides leadership for a specific QA function i.e. Automation, Manual, or Performance. May have responsibility for operational aspects of the job. Has a strong role in technical mentoring, coaching and training employees.1. Duties include partnering with product owners/business leaders to define and to write test requirements, strategies, and design. Work with development and project management teams to devise and integrate quality control within the SDLC. Has influence over test infrastructure development and direction. Help implement best QA practices, and applies standards across SDLC phases and QA disciplines. Provides technical vision, leadership, and mentoring. Typically has hands-on testing responsibility. 2. Manages a team of QA resources to design, implement, and maintain quality strategies/ processes. Have full supervisory responsibility including performance reviews, hiring/firing, assigning and managing work flow, resolving escalated issues, technical mentoring, training, coaching and expense budgeting. 3. Quantify and measure QA activities to provide metrics and report to stakeholders/ project teams. Create testing infrastructure in order to measure and quantify work, to improve quality standards and processes. Demonstrates business discernment in the planning and development process for project goals.HS Diploma/GED Required BS Degree or equivalent work experience in a software engineering discipline Typically has 8+ years related experience in an applicable software development environment. Project release experience covering all QA release cycle phases. Project and product management skills. Leadership experience in a technical lead or project management role in highly matrix environment. Agile SDLC experience preferred Additional Skills needed: Leadership, communication, and analytical skills Subject matter expertise in one or more of the quality functions i.e. Automation, Performance, Manual testing. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional to work on all phases of development cycle within broadly assigned QA discipline Able to effectively utilize different project management concepts, practices, and procedures Ability to apply QA strategies, addressing all aspect of testing within assigned discipline. Ability to manage team member tasks. Ability to lead local and remote teams/vendors to deliver quality applications.
