Director of Technology at Franklin

Job Description

Mentor, motivate and supervise development team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.  Act as both a project liaison and team member.   Assist in the decisions influencing the strategic and tactical direction of the company.  Responsible for all aspects of the software development life cycle/ALM.  Responsible for all aspects of infrastructure development, reliability and maintenance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline which relates to application development and management.
  • Ability to lead and manage Software Development, Software Quality Assurance, Database, and Business Intelligence staff.
  • Ability to define and enforce solid industry standard design and development standards.
  • Minimum of 14 years of experience in technology and software development disciplines, including: design, architecture, implementation, and maintenance of code using standard practices. 
  • Experience managing consultants, outsourced resources, and staff augmentation.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience leading technology teams.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND WORK AIDS

Phone System, Personal Computer (Desktop or Laptop) and appropriate software applications, Calculator, Printer, Facsimile Machine, Scanner and other office equipment as necessary or assigned.


WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS

 

 Air conditioned, sheltered work environment with little or no exposure to hazardous or toxic airborne materials.  May be sitting for long periods of time; may be required to perform tasks requiring repetitive hand movements.  No environmental hazards indicated for this classification.


STRENGTH REQUIREMENT

 

SEDENTARY WORK:  Seated for the better part of the day performing functions of an administrative or clerical nature; may require stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, shifting or carrying of objects of up to 15 lbs on occasion.  May perform tasks of a repetitive nature; i.e. keyboarding, calculating, etc.  Has a moderate degree of control within the work environment; can modify placement of portable equipment; lighting and furniture, with approval.

 

LIGHT WORK:  Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work.  Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree.  However, if the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
