Job Title: ProductionScheduler
Department: Business Planning
Reports To: Planning & IE Manager
SUMMARY:
Develops production schedules for all stages of manufacturing that insures sufficient product to meet customer demand and maintains budgeted inventory levels. Forecasts requirements for raw materials, auxiliary materials, chemicals, lubricants, and support equipment. Maintains appropriate inventory levels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Develops yearly and monthly production plans. Schedules daily production for all line items (currently 72).
Reviews daily production report for accuracy in conjunction with the production assistant.
Requisitions raw materials (rod), auxiliary materials, lubricants, 0.93 PL wire, chemicals, support equipment such as spools.
Develops daily rod receipts to support production requirements based on current allocation plan.
Maintains inventory records for raw material, production, finished goods, auxiliary materials, and chemicals.
Verifies work in progress to determine adjustments required on schedule.
Reviews machine requirements and availability.
Prepares budget for raw materials, scrap, and purchased wire from BSJ.
Produces monthly report to accounting regarding finished goods, raw material usage, chemical usage, scrap, and work in process.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of two years related experience; or four year’s experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and production/inventory control concepts.
Able to manage multiple tasks/deadlines and to interact with other departments as needed to support the production plan.
