Senior Director, HIM Services at Brentwood

Job Summary:

The Senior Director, HIM Services reports to the Senior Vice President, Revenue Cycle Operations. This position providessupport and operational guidance to hospital HIM departments throughout the company. It will collaboratewith other corporate departments to align department and company goals and initiatives.

General Responsibilities:

• Oversee, coordinate and lead ICD-10 implementation and processes that impact HIM operations to include:

1. Coordinate and provide corporate leadership to the ICD-10 Readiness Assessment

2. Strategically plan (change management) for ICD-10 as it impacts HIM workforce, processes, systems, etc.

3. Create/lead ICD-10 HIM Director Workgroup to develop and revise necessary tools, processes, policies, etc.

4. Develop coding preferred vendor list (obtain contracts with group pricing, secure vendors for ICD-10 transition).

• Strategically plan (change management) for EHR as it impacts HIM workforce, processes, etc.


• Lead due diligence reviews as they relate to HIM Operations.


• Create/lead HIM Director Workgroup to develop and revise necessary operational tools, processes, policies, etc.


• Determine and develop corporate HIM organizational structure to meet the operational support needs of the company.


• Provide HIM Revenue Cycle Support (assess staffing, productivity, A/R challenges, denials process).


• Develop, maintain and assist with implementation of HIM corporate policies.


• Responsible for query compliance and query process.


• Provide coding operations support (staffing, productivity, workflow, etc.)

 Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Education and Special Certifications)

• The successful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in HIM (required).


• RHIA required.


• Minimum of 5 years HIM Director/hospital leadership experience.


• Corporate HIM experience preferred.


• Up to 30% Travel.
