Regional Service Technician I at Memphis

 

This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and recovery of failed IT hardware and Point of Sale (POS) Equipment in live retail and office environments

 

In addition, this position requires a strong work ethic, outstanding planning and organization skills, high attention to detail, exemplary customer service and time management skills.

 

A day in the life of a RST may require a candidate to cover a broad geographic territory in true "road warrior" fashion and previous POS and self-checkout break-fix experience is preferred.  RSTs are responsible for managing their daily calls and required inventory, as well as planning an organized and efficient route to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLA) are achieved each day.  This position may require a RST to work a “non-standard" work week which includes weekends, evening shifts and availability to be “on-call" as needed.

 

 

Eligibility Requirements:

This position will require the use of a company vehicle and access to company assets. In order to be eligible for hire, you must meet the following requirements and any offer of employment with Tolt Service Group is subject to satisfactory completion of Motor Vehicle Review, Drug Screening and Criminal Background check.

An applicants prior MVR violations, suspensions, accidents within a 12 month period, and/or misdemeanor and/or felony convictions will preclude an individual from employment with Tolt Service Group only to the extent such a conviction(s) relates to the applicants suitability for employment in the position for which he or she has applied.

Specific to any Regional Service Technician position, the following type and number of violations will exclude you from eligibility:

  • Any combination of 3 or more moving violations, at fault accidents or preventable accidents within 3 years
  • Suspension, revocations or administrative restrictions within the last 3 years
  • Conviction for an alcohol and/or drug related driving offense(s)

NOTE: This is not an all inclusive list of type and number of violations that may preclude you from eligibility for this position.

 
 RequirementsQualifications:

The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required, AS degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years retail store level experience desired
  • Minimum 1 year technology help desk or I.T. store support experience preferred
  • Low voltage voice and data cabling experience; Support with installation and/or low voltage cabling projects may require travel
  • Good communication and professional level interpersonal skills required; this position will interface directly with customers and end users; must be able to communicate effectively in English using all standard business methods of communicating
  • Well developed written communication skills required to provide accurate notation, billing, and parts order information
  • Must possess strong customer service skills, effective problem solving skills
  • Must possess a strong sense of urgency in managing both SLA repair and inventory turn times
  • Ability to work in adverse repair/installation environments
  • Must possess ability to work independently as needed while being a strong team player
  • Must pass criminal background, pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Record check to be considered for employment
  • Must demonstrate history of safe work habits

 

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and recovery of failed IT hardware in live retail and office environments: Completion of ad hoc IT and project-based IT hardware installations as needed. This position may also be required to complete staging / integration services of IT hardware as needed.
  • Edit all aspects of trouble tickets assigned to the work zone. This includes providing comprehensive notes / resolution information / equipment information / closure detail. Candidates must also be knowledged in providing trouble ticket billing information as needed. 
  • Order parts for all completed tickets with accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain spare and parts inventory in van for multiple customer environment and maintain constant adherence to Inventory Control practices and standards

 

 

Compensation: Wage commensurate with experience and qualifications (Grade 12).This position is classified as non-exempt hourly.
