Systems Administrator (Server) at Oak Ridge

Kforce Government Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator (Server) for our client located in Oak Ridge, TN to perform the following duties:

Installation, configuration, tuning and support of:

• Servers running Sparc Solaris, Solaris X64, variations of LINUX


• Client server technology utilizing NFS and CIFS


• Large memory SMP systems with many cores


• Enterprise client server configurations


• Multi-vendor file systems such as XFS, GPFS, VXFS


• Fielded systems


• Blade systems and associated interconnects (SAD, FC, TCP/IP, etc)


• LINUX and Microsoft Windows Operating Systems


• Microsoft Exchange


• Centrify


• Infrastructure support services such as DNS, NIS, Active Directory, Centrify, Zenoss, SiteScope, HP Openview, HPSA, HPSE, Splunk, Sendmail, Exchange, NetQoS, Infoblox


• Thin client solutions based on Virtual bridges and Citrix


• NoMachine NX


• Virtualization products; VMware and Solaris containers

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and 8 yrs demonstrable experience in system administration and support of large client-server based IT enterprise; OR 5 yrs full-time computer science work that can be substituted for the Bachelors degree with 8 years additional demonstrable experience described above


• Experience shall include installation, configuration, and networking of Linux based platforms. Experience shall include: creating, modifying and deleting user accounts, performing system back-ups, and maintaining system configuration files


• Must have fundamental understanding of operating systems and be familiar with Linux commands or utilities at the user level


• Experience in installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems and commercial software packages


• Ability to develop and implement enterprise backup / recovery strategies, server configuration and consolidation, and verification of the health and status of the entire IT infrastructure


• Ability to provide support for enterprise services such as DNS, NFS, e-mail services, security protection mechanisms, and the interoperability of Unix and Windows based systems
