DUTIES:Back to top The Financial Manager serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and has responsibility for t he overall operation, training, and production of each section or unit in Fiscal Service and for the coordination of their assigned functional activities so as to produce quality products. In significantly challenging situations, he/she makes the necessary determinations as to the accounting statistical or fiscal/administrative procedures and techniques that will be employed to meet customer expectations. Formulates, develops prepares and executes the annual budget plans and administers the medical centers financial management program. The CFO interprets program objectives and develops procedures to attain these objectives, resolving Fiscal Service operating challenges, making decisions on cases which require interpretations of regulation, administrative rules and organizational policy, with decisions having a material effect upon the planning, coordination, directing and controlling of departmental objectives. Responsible for maintaining an automated and fully integrated system of financial staff services, which contributes to the effective management and control of medical center operations in such areas as accounting, budgeting, travel, payroll, financial analysis and reporting.
