Provides enterprise-wide technical leadership and consulting--from strategic decision making down to the project planning level. Responsible for advanced projects related to the design and development of networked systems (WAN, LAN, Security, and Wireless solutions).Responsibilities- Responsible for initiating, coordinating and participating in highly-complex projects to plan, design, develop and evaluate networking technologies (corporate data, storage, wireless and Ecom systems, etc.), methods and solutions- Introduces cost-effective solutions to continually improve the quality and performance of the network and associated network appliances- Uses network and business knowledge to anticipate potential network issues- Researches solutions and submits documentation and design materials to partner for implementation upon approval- Provides technical leadership and consulting enterprise-wide- Works closely with the Server and Telecom Engineering services teams to ensure their services have the appropriate support to provide bandwidth, reliability and security- Works in conjunction with the ServiceMaster Information Security department to ensure conformity to the current PCI standards- Works with business unit associates to understand and enable business opportunities, efficiencies, and growth through effective design of WAN, LAN, Security and Wireless Solutions- Follows process flows to engage ServiceMasters network partner to perform work as directed by projects, initiatives or goals set by the Network Architecture ManagerCompetencies- ServiceMaster Commitment- Customer Orientation/Positive Impact- Results Orientation/Sense of Urgency- Change Mastery- Relationship Building/Sensitivity- Problem Solving and Decision Making- InitiativeEducation and Experience Requirements- Bachelors degree in communication engineering, computer science or related technology field and 7-10 years experience in designing, implementing, and supporting WAN, LAN, Security and Wireless Solutions in a large enterprise environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience required- Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification required- Prior experience in Cisco VPN, DNS, PIX/ASA/Checkpoint firewalls; ISR, ASR and legacy routers; Nexus switches; 6500 switches, ASA firewalls, Secure ACS and Cisco VOIPKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Proficiency with Viso- Expert knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, networks, and applications.- Expert knowledge of routing and switching in a Cisco Ethernet environments- Expert knowledge in evaluating technologies and vendors- Demonstrated successful experience and technical expertise in a complex, mission-critical, 24x7x365 Cisco based 1 and 10 Gb switching/routing environments.- Demonstrated expertise in contemporary network technology including knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/ IP, OSPF, BGP4, MPLS, QoS, and VoIP.- Demonstrated leadership, visionary and project management skills.- Basic knowledge of Cisco Controller based wireless technologies.- Ability to evaluate PCI requirements and recommend compliant wired and wireless network designs.- Ability to become an expert in the following platforms: F5 Load balancing/SSL acceleration and BlueCat Networks Adonis DNS/DHCP Appliances are heavily used technologies in this environment.- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Ability to gain organizational commitment for all high-level infrastructure plans- Ability to manage the engineering teams of all our network equipment providers.- Ability to work independently as well as lead cross-functional teams.- Ability to stay current in emerging technologies- Ability to work hands-on and troubleshoot issues as needed.- Ability to proactively see where work needs to be performed to correct perceived systems weaknesses.DisclaimerThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by associates assigned to this classification.
