Jewelry Television (JTV") is a television and internet home shopping network, focusing exclusively on the sale of fine jewelry and gemstones. JTVs television programming is broadcast in over 80 million homes nationwide. Today, JTV is the largest retailer of loose gemstones in the world and is one of the Top 20 jewelry retailers in the country. JTV has a team of jewelry and gemstone experts canvassing the world to locate quality merchandise and oversee manufacturing operations, including a subsidiary base of operations in Bangkok, Thailand. We currently have an opening for a Staff Accountant. This position is primarily responsible for the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial statements as well as the completion of all schedules supporting the internal and external financial packages. In addition, the Accountant will assume ownership and management of the inventory process to ensure information obtained is accurate and timely for financial reporting purposes. This position will further participate in the annual financial statement audit process and assist with providing supporting documentation in a timely manner as well as addressing questions asked by external auditors.

• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close process by ensuring that period-end closing entries are properly and timely recorded, including those prepared by other staff accountants. Prepare monthly internal and external financial statements as well as supporting close schedules for timely review by management. Duties include posting or reviewing all necessary journal entries and transactions that affect the financial statements, reviewing the financial statements for errors and significant and/or unusual fluctuations and investigate those issues to ensure timely completion of the financial statements.
• Assist in the annual audit of the companys financial statements through timely provision of supporting documentation and communication of issues as they arise as well as work with external auditors to investigate and resolve financial statement issues on a timely basis.

• Participate in the development and implementation of sound internal control policies, procedures, standards, and systems necessary to ensure that the companys financial statements are in compliance with all required accounting and regulatory standards. For policies and procedures that are in place, ensure compliance with such policies and procedures on an on-going basis.

• Provide support in managing and monitoring compliance with all necessary governmental and accounting regulatory rules and regulations as well as assist in the establishment and monitoring of sound internal control principals and procedures as required under SOX 404.

Job Requirements

• Candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting;

• Some knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance preferred; must have ability to develop strong relationships with business owners throughout the organization.

• One to three years of experience preferred.

• Incumbent must remain educated on current accounting developments as changes in accounting practices/pronouncements will affect Financial Statements; Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
