Site OverviewCustom Divisions Memphis plant manufactures personal care products and fine fragrances, and is located conveniently in Memphis, TN and is registered and compliant with the FDA, EPA, cGMP. KIK Memphis has 12 production lines, a total of 310,000 square feet of space and operates at 24 hours, 5 days per week. It is employed by 300 full time employees. It is capable of liquids packaging in plastic, glass, & composite liquid filling containers and tube filling.
General Summary
We are searching for an Controller with experience as a manufacturing plant operations accountant or auditor. This critical leader is responsible for leading and performing all day to day finance responsibilities associated with plant operations. Daily activities include accounting activities from posting to the GL, month end close, through P&L and Balance statements. You will develop policies, controls, and procedures that ensure the protection of KIK Memphis assets are in place, maintained and are followed. Provides accurate financial information and analysis and present findings and recommendations that allow the Plant Manager to make rational and data based decisions. In partnership with the Plant Manager, you will pro-actively identify improvements, determine and implements short and long term strategies concerning profitability and efficiency. This is an operational accounting leadership role supported by 1 Financial Analyst. Must have experience working in a role where you spent a good deal of time out in the plant, warehouse and in the production areas.
Essential Job Functions
- Hands-on General Ledger, Standard Costing, Inventory Control, and Fixed Asset functions.
- Prepares annual budgets and periodical forecasting updates.
- Works closely with plant personnel and observes plant operations in order to assist with and to make recommendations for improvement in plant operations.
- Monitors, approves and analyzes plant spending and capital projects.
- Prepares quarterly, monthly and periodic Financial Reports and Analysis for submission to both the Divisional and Corporate Finance team and performs local financial analysis for Plant Management
- Seeks out opportunities for continuous improvement in a Lean Manufacturing environment
Job Requirements
Qualifications.- University degree with above average cumulative GPA (3.0 or higher) is required. Transcripts are required prior to the interview process.
- CPA license is required, may consider candidate in pursuit of license currently
- Minimum 5 years experience, ideally with experience in public accounting leading audits for manufacturing clients or 7 years as a Plant Operational Accountant.
- Proficient in US GAAP
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or 5S experience
- Must be an articulate leader, with strong PowerPoint and presentation skills.Presents findings and weekly financial presentations to Plant Leadership Team in daily production meetings and weekly to KIKs Corporate and Divisional Finance Team
- Experience leading daily financial operations with manufacturing revenues in excess of $100MM
- Computer skills in Accounting Software, ERP, MS Office, and PowerPoint, JDE a significant asset
