Job Classification: Direct Hire Our client, a large manufacturing company with a plant located in West Nashville is looking for a Buyer to join their local operations. On a daily basis this person will negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to get best in class pricing for all supplies, services, and commodities for the local Nashville plant. Items purchased will include electrical supplies, pipe fittings, safety supplies, and power transmission supplies. This buyer will utilize vendor relationships in order to effectively leverage buying power for the plant while ensuring that the plant standards regarding the quality, timeliness, and cost of purchased items are maintained. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of related purchasing experience, a Bachelors degree and a CPSM certification, or equivalent experience, and a an advanced understating of purchasing laws, contracts, procedures, and techniques.
