Software Engineer at Knoxville

Job Responsibilities:
A Software Engineer at AMS performs engineering work of various types to assist with the process of the collectionand analysis of data using specialized data acquisition equipment and analysis software. As such, the engineer should:Be willing to travel and possess excellent interpersonal skillsBe able to work within an engineering team to design or re-design these systems and develop athorough knowledge of them including their operation, maintenance, and repairBe able to clearly express his thoughts verbally and in writingWork as part of multidisciplinary teams, not only with other engineers, but also with marketing andsales staffs, technicians and customersMulti-task and show the ability to work in a supervisory capacity as careers progresses.
As an AMS engineer, the candidate will:

• Confer with other engineers, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects

and products.

• Participate, develop, and implement new research ideas as directed by others and be able to apply

good engineering practices and electrical theory to engineering research projects.

• Develop engineering applications in LabVIEW for PC based data acquisition equipment. Excellent

programming skills and technique if not already experienced with LabVIEW.

• Travel from 8 to 12 times per year for average 3 day duration to perform testing at various nuclear

plants. Compile data and write reports of completed projects and analysis of data taken atcustomers sites and from research projects. Conduct field service testing to collect data for analysis.

• The person will serve as AMS ambassador at the plant so must be able to interact well with others

and be highly professional.

• Other technical and non-technical tasks as assigned.
