Job Description

Vanderbilt University Medical Center has an urgent need for a Java Developer who is looking to make a difference in the direction of healthcare.

In this role, you will be able to formulate/define specifications for complex software in a modern object oriented environment utilizing Agile XP software development practices.

 

Responsibilities:

 

- Design, code, test, debug and document applications.

- Competent to work at the highest technical level on all phases of software systems programming applications.

- Ability to serve as a technical lead within a team depending on project needs.

- Provide excellent client support and service.

 

Required Skills/Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years of Java experience

- Strong OO design skills

- A minimum of 3 years of web development experience

- Experience with framework such as Spring, Hibernate, etc.
Relational Database experience (SQL)

- Iterative development methodologies, such as Agile XP

- Ability to mentor other developers

Desired Experience:
 
·  RESTful web service development
·  Experience with Google Web Toolkit (GWT), Spring, MVC Javascript libraries.
·  Scripting Languages such as Perl, PHP, Python, or Ruby
·  Experience with Eclipse, Maven, Bamboo, Clover
·  Experience with Subversion
