We are in search of experienced Mechanics for our Tennessee Operations facility. The Mechanic will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of heavy industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Read basic mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints to troubleshoot equipment.
Create job kits for maintenance jobs including repairs, new equipment installation, and preventative maintenance.
Repair and maintain piping systems and assembling hoses with fittings.
Responsible for welding and rigging.
Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment.
Adhere to all safety procedures and state and federal regulations.
Operate a variety of hand tools, measuring devices, and test equipment.
Follow instructions and respond to management direction.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
Exercise strong communication skills and being a good team player.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Provide improvement suggestions to increase quality, production, and safety.
Basic Qualifications
High school graduate or GED
1+ year mechanical maintenance experience with a variety of areas, including troubleshooting, millwright, pipe fitting, plumbing, hydraulics, and pneumatics, basic working knowledge of welding and burning.
Proficiency with basic computer applications.
Successful candidate must pass Alcoa mechanical entrance test.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years mechanical maintenance experience.
3G, 6G welding; certification.
Completion of an approved apprentice program or technical training.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and applications.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
Knowledge of predictive tools such as vibration, thermography, oil analysis, and/or ultra-sonic application.
Associates or bachelors degree in an applicable field.
